Vertical Solutions is an engineering, inspection and installation firm specializing in the telecommunications industry. The company was founded in April, 2005 by Michael L. Lassiter, SE, PE, CWI. What started as a two-person venture has quickly become a 33 member team that has completed over 8,700 tasks involving 3,000 structures, including inspection, engineering and installation.

Our company is only as good as it's team members. In order to meet our mission of providing high value engineering where high value = high quality combined with competitive cost, we emphasize a disciplined work process and clear, frequent communication. This communication is paramount to maintaining cycle times and client satisfaction.

President
Michael L. Lassiter, SE, PE, CWI
Structural Engineer, Civil Engineer, and Certified Weld Inspector

Mr. Lassiter started his professional practice in 1996. After obtaining a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering, with concentration in Structures, from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, he worked full time climbing, inspecting and engineering communications structures while completing a Master of Civil Engineering degree in Structures and Mechanics.

Mr. Lassiter is now a licensed structural engineer, professional engineer, civil engineer, and certified weld inspector. He is registered in all (50) United States of America, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico.

Mr. Lassiter provides research and development of new products and services. He assists with the development of in-house standards and procedures. He serves on the TR14.7 committee which authors the TIA-222 (tower industry) standard, is a member of American Society of Civil Engineers, the President of the Structural Engineers Association, Raleigh Chapter and a NCEES Model Law Structural Engineer.

He is an engineering consultant. He answers calls and emails on nights and weekends to assist clients with issues and emergencies. He climbed and inspected a tower just last week.

Director of Operations
Clifford L. Stickney

Mr. Stickney started with us in early 2006. He left a sales manager position to start education and career in Computer Animated Design (CAD). He now combines his experience in designing and detailing with sales while acting as the Director of Operations. He makes sure clients’ requests and queries are answered as soon as possible and that they are continuously informed.

Engineering Manager, Team Blue
Kingsley C. Igboanugo, E.I.T.
Structural Engineer in Training

Mr. Igboanugo obtained a Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Civil Engineering, with concentration in structures, from Federal University Of Technology, Owerri, Imo State, Nigeria in 1999. He worked for Simidia S&I in Port Harcourt before moving to the United States.

He is currently working full time climbing, inspecting, analyzing, and designing while continuing a Master of Civil Engineering in Structures and Mechanics at North Carolina State University. He completed his principles and practice (Professional Engineer) examination in October,
2008.

Mr. Igboanugo is a member of American Society of Civil Engineers and
Structural Engineers Association, Raleigh Chapter.

Engineering Manager, Team Orange
Holly R. Sanford, E.I.T.
Structural Engineer in Training

Holly Sanford has nearly five years of experience in structural engineering as well as a Bachelor of Science in Structural Engineering from North Carolina State University. Results oriented and dedicated to customer
satisfaction, Holly was drawn to Vertical Solutions because of the company’s strong reputation for high quality products and superior customer care. Holly sits for the Professional Engineer examination in April, 2009. When she’s not working or studying, she’s engaged in outdoor activities or mission work around the world. Her last mission trip took her to the Czech Republic, where she particularly enjoyed the culture, food and wonderful people.

Manager, Inspections and Design
Toby J. Kloewer

Mr. Kloewer completed a 4-year Bachelor Associate degree in Education at Graceland University. He played football, and participated in intramurals. He was involved with the student government on campus, and also worked
as a peer counselor. He taught for 2 1/2 years as a Physical Education teacher.

Mr. Kloewer came to work with Vertical Solutions in January 2007. He spent the first year and a half inspecting and mapping structures and foundations. He is now Manager for Inspections and Design. His experience in field combined with knowledge of CAD allows him to manage the field personnel while directing the CAD staff with respect to what is constructible.

Manager, Tower Division
R.J. Parker

Mr. Parker has 15 years experience in telecommunications industry. His background includes raw-land builds for monopoles, self-supporting, guyed, and stealth towers, installation/modification/maintenance/inspection of
broadcast, 2-Way, cellular, Wi-Fi, and paging systems. He is certified by OSHA, Anritzu, Hewlet Packard, ComTrain, Gravitec, Huey and Phillips, Honeywell, Andrews, RFS, Comscope, Euepen, Times, RFS, etc. and trained in CPR/first aid. He has completed work for customers such as Alltel, Verizon, Cingular, Microsoft, FBI, DEA, Homeland Security etc.

Manager, Administration and Human Resources
Mary Jo Rose

With a strong accounting and business administration background, Mary Jo’s previous experience and attention to detail serves her and Vertical Solutions well in her role as Business Manager. She has been with the company for two years and manages everything from accounts payable to Human Resources issues. Everyone on the team knows Mary Jo can and will take care of your problem, whether it’s an insurance matter or certification paperwork puzzle or payroll question. In her spare time, Mary Jo enjoys many personal hobbies such as sewing, reading, camping and spoiling her grandchildren. She also volunteers with such organizations at the Pilot International Organization, the Jimmy V Foundation, the Leukemia Association and Relay for Life. A wall of pictures above her desk shows her love of family and highlights the familial nature of Vertical Solutions.
